Are Fireshutters tested to the latest standard?
Yes. Fireshutters are tested and Certified by the CSIRO in August 2022 to the latest standard 2014. Certified FRL -/120/- and fit for purpose to the building code of Australia and compliant with AS1530.4-2014 Section 7 and with AS 1905.2 and the Building Code of Australia D2.19 and C3.4.
Do Firehutters automatically deploy in a fire?
Yes. Fireshutters can be fitted with a automatic closure system that activates in a Fire event via a 73 Deg Celsius Fusible link release system, to prevent fire spreading.
Can Fireshutters be used internally?
Yes. Fireshutters can be installed internally or externally with fire resistance FRL -/120/- from either direction.
Can Fireshutters be used as everyday shutters?
Yes. Fireshutters are fantastic insulators in heat and cold. They can also be used to regulate glare, light and offer storm protection for your windows and doors. Fireshutters are also full security shutters when in the down position.
How much space do I need above my windows to fit a shutter?
The overall height of the shutter determines the size of the pelmets which range from 300mm – 300mm. 450mm is required for motorised options.
Are Fireshutters salt resistant?
Fireshutters are high grade 304 stainless steel which is salt resisitant. The galvanised steel pelmet will increase the life of your shutters if exposed to salt and can also be powdercoated in your choice of Dulux powdercoat colour range.
Can Fireshutters be manual operated shutters?
Fireshutters offer a spring assisted manual shutter, however it is only suitable for small shutters on ground floor
What is the minimum window width suitable for Fireshutters?
The minimum width is 550mm.
What is the maximum span of one shutter?
The maximum span is 2700mm.

It is best to send plans prior to ordering windows. Fireshutters are always happy to advise of any apparent issues prior to starting the build which may save you money and ensure certification of you windows and shutters.
